Early Morning pickups
from all over Darwin. We were ready at 5:45, but did not get picked up til 6:25.
Leave Darwin at 7:30am and breakfast stop at Adelaide River. Full bus - 16 plus the
driver, Hodgy.
Shopping stop at Woolies in the Mall in Katherine, followed by lunch on the banks of the
River.
Drove west and crossed the West Australian border as it got dark.
Drove to Lake Argyle, set up camp in the local caravan park, put up tents, cooked dinner.
First night in our cute little 2 man tents - windy night, so most of us had the flaps on,
but only the Swiss had them tied down on every corner! But we did have hot
showers and toilets :)
It was a day with lots of driving - about
800 kms.
Highlights included the burning off on
the hillsides as we drove down to lake Argyle in the dark, Collecting firewood in
the dark.
